What If This Was Paradise? 3Walls- Navy Pier, Chicago Curator Brett Sweeney 2017
%What If This Was Paradise? % uses a ghost bike motif that is dotted along Chicago’s street curbs. It is a memorialized space on the overlooked West Side.
This work creates visions, dreams, paradise, and memorials: weaving and embedding fabric in the fence like a loom with strips of white satin cloth, and contrasting it with white opaque grocery store bags that become signs of remembrance. The strips extend and dangle from the fence edges - braided, crawling into an “amphitheater” form to perform.
